What is a Cricut machine?
Cricut is a cutting machine that can cut many different materials for your craft projects, such as paper, vinyl, and cardstock. Some Cricut machines can even cut thin wood, leather, fabrics, etc.
There are currently three types of Cricut machines on the market: Cricut Explore Air 2, Cricut Maker and Cricut Joy. The choice of which machine to buy depends on the type of project you want to make. All machines are equipped with Cricut's Design Space software.
How the Cricut machine works
You can connect cricut wirelessly to your computer, create or download designs on your computer, and then send them to your cricut for cutting. Cricut has software called Design Space (for Windows, MAC, and smartphones) that allows you to create and import designs to cut with your machine. Inside the Cricut is a small blade (or rotating knife, pen or scoring tool). After preparing the design to be cut in the Design Space, you can fix the material you need on a 12-inch wide cutting mat, send your design wirelessly from the computer to Cricut, and then load the material into the machine. Just press a button and your project will start cutting.
