D2 DTF Printer Low & Waste Ink Alert Guide - D2 Lesson 6

Hi everyone, this is Tia. Welcome back to another session of our DTF Printer tutorial series — Lesson 6.

In Lessons 1 through 3, we covered:

• Lesson 1 – Unboxing and installing the D2 DTF Printer
• Lesson 2 – Software download and your first complete print
• Lesson 3 – Daily maintenance essentials

In Lessons 4 and 5, we introduced:

• Lesson 4 – Sleep Mode (and how it reduces maintenance hassles)
• Lesson 5 – Touchscreen operation instructions

The first five lessons are perfect for beginners and provide enough knowledge to support DTF printing entrepreneurs in their early stages.

However, after using your D2 printer for a while, you might start asking questions like:

• "When should I refill the ink?"
• "How often do I need to check the ink cartridges?"

This video will answer those questions by introducing two important alert features of the D2 DTF Printer:

1. Low Ink Alert
2. Waste Ink Overflow Alert

The Low Ink Alert is triggered when the ink level of any of the five ink cartridges (C, M, Y, K, or White) drops below 33% (approximately 100ml).

When the ink level falls below this threshold, it may affect your DTF print quality — causing issues such as color shifting or missing colors.

• The indicator light for the corresponding low-ink cartridge (C, Y, M, K, or W) will illuminate.
• The machine will emit a continuous beep for 60 seconds.
• If the beeping stops and you have not added ink above the warning line within 5 minutes, the machine will trigger the beep again.

Add the corresponding ink to the appropriate ink cartridge until the ink level rises above the warning line.

💡 Pro Tip: Always keep spare ink cartridges on hand to avoid production delays.

The Waste Ink Overflow Alert is triggered when the waste ink bottle contains too much ink — specifically, when the level exceeds 66% (approximately 200ml).

If not addressed, this may affect print quality and could potentially lead to ink leakage inside the machine.

• The WB light will illuminate.
• The machine will emit a continuous beep for 60 seconds.
• If the beeping stops and you have not emptied the waste ink bottle within 5 minutes, the machine will trigger the beep again.

Follow these steps to empty the waste ink bottle:

1. Locate the syringe and ink tube in the accessory box that came with your printer.
2. Connect the syringe to the silicone tube.
3. Insert the silicone tube into the waste ink bottle opening.
4. Use the syringe to draw out the waste ink from the bottle.

⚠️ Be sure to push the syringe slowly when releasing the waste ink. Pushing too quickly may cause ink to splash or overflow.

If you need to temporarily disable these alert functions, you may unplug the connection cable from the circuit board.

However, under normal circumstances, we do not recommend disabling this feature. The alerts are designed to protect your print quality and prevent damage to your machine.

📸 Take a photo or record a video of your disconnection process before unplugging anything. This will serve as a reference when you need to reconnect the cables — helping you avoid plugging the wrong wire into the wrong port.

Understanding the Low Ink Alert and Waste Ink Overflow Alert is essential for keeping your D2 DTF Printer running smoothly. These features help you:

• Avoid unexpected print quality issues
• Prevent production interruptions
• Extend the life of your printer
