[Machine Tutorials] How to Use HTVRONT Auto Tumbler Heat Press

Did you know that you can transform plain tumblers into personalized masterpieces with just a few simple steps?

Well, we learned how to use the automatic heat press in the last article. Today, let's learn how to sublimate your mugs, tumblers, and glasses with the HTVRONT Auto tumbler heat press.

Before we dive into the tutorial, kindly prepare the following items. Having these ready will make the learning process easier. Here we need to prepare:

  • Work Size: Diameter: 2.67 inches, Length: ≤ 10.6 inches
  • Sublimation Blank: ≤ 3.48 inches, Capacity: 10-30 oz
  • Prepare a sublimation blank for your desired item.
  • Weeding tool that is used to remove the heat tape.

Understanding the Control Panel

Unlike automatic press machines, the control panel of HTVRONT roller heat press machine has no mode adjustment, memory mode and automatic mode. You only need to understand a few buttons:

  • ①Power key: Turns the machine on and off.
  • ②Temp key: Sets the temperature and allows you to switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit.
  • ③Time key: Sets the pressing time.
  • ④"+" key: Increase the temperature or time value.
  • ⑤"-" key: Decrease the temperature or time value.
  • ⑥“R” key: Starts the pressing process.
  • ⑦Display screen: Show temperature, time, mode level, and "Auto" mode indicator.

Machine Operation

  • Power On: Press the switch key until the machine's display lights up.
  • Temperature Settings:
    • Press and hold the "Temp" key for 3 seconds to switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit.
    • Press "Temp" to adjust the temperature using the "+" and "-" buttons.
  • Time Settings: Press "Time" to adjust the time using the "+" and "-" buttons.
  • Start: The "start" key will illuminate green and beep when the set temperature is reached.

Preparing Your Tumbler

Before you can apply a design to your tumbler, you need to prepare it. This involves cleaning the tumbler and applying a primer.

To clean the tumbler, simply wash it with soap and water. Make sure to dry the tumbler completely before applying the primer.

To apply the primer, simply spray the tumbler with a light coat of primer. Allow the primer to dry completely before applying the design.

#1. Sublimate Mugs

The heating temperature is 390℉, and it will take 480s(8 minutes).

1. Press the "Start" button to heat the pressing mug.

2. Put the mug into the machine.

3. Pull out of the mug. (You need to wear heat gloves because the handle is too hot to hurt your hands.)

4. Remove the heat tape with a bending hook.

2. Sublimate Tumblers

The heating temperature is 390℉, and it will take 240s(4 minutes).

1. Press the "Start" to begin heat pressing tumbler.

2. Put the mug into the machine.

3. Spin the tumbler 180 degrees and press "start" again.

4. Pull out of the tumbler.

5. Let's tear out of the paper wrapped on the tumbler. (Must wear the heat gloves to work.)

3. Sublimating Glass

The image shows sublimating glass with HTVRONT Auto tumbler heat press.

The heating temperature is 380℉, and it will take 360s(6 minutes).

1. Put the glass into the machine. (Don't forget to wear the heat gloves)

2. Press "start" button to begin glass heat pressing.

3. Spin the glass 180 degrees and press "start" again.

4. Pull out of the glass.

Troubleshoot common issues

Issue: The HTV is not adhering to the tumbler. 

Solution: Ensure that the tumbler is clean and dry before applying the HTV. Also, make sure that you are using the correct temperature and time settings for your HTV material.

Issue: The HTV is peeling off the tumbler. 

Solution: Make sure that you are using the correct pressure when applying the HTV. Also, ensure that the HTV is fully cooled before removing the transfer tape.

Issue: The HTV is wrinkled or bubbling. 

Solution: Make sure that you are using the correct temperature and time settings for your HTV material. Also, ensure that the HTV is fully cooled before removing the transfer tape.

Caring for and Maintaining the Machine

Cleaning:

  • Unplug the machine before cleaning.
  • Wipe down the exterior of the machine with a damp cloth.
  • Clean the interior of the machine with a mild detergent solution.
  • Dry the machine thoroughly before storing it.

Maintenance:

  • Inspect the machine regularly for any damage.
  • Replace any damaged parts immediately.
  • Store the machine in a cool, dry place.
