Welcome to Lesson 8 of the HTVRONT E15 Embroidery Machine tutorial series. In the previous lesson, we learned how to import digitized embroidery files using a USB drive. Today, we're learning the second method for importing designs to the E15 15-needle embroidery machine — through HTVRONT's own IdeaStudio software over WiFi.
This method has a few advantages over the USB workflow. You can browse and download from IdeaStudio's built-in design library, edit designs directly on your computer, preview how they'll look on real garments with the Mockup feature, and send finished designs to the machine without ever touching a USB drive. If you plan to work with designs regularly, this is the workflow that will save you the most time.
Important compatibility note: HTVRONT E15 is only compatible with Windows systems. Before you begin, make sure you're working on a Windows PC that's connected to the same WiFi network as your E15 machine.
The first step is connecting your E15 embroidery machine to HTVRONT IdeaStudio. This is a one-time setup — once the connection is established, IdeaStudio will remember your machine for future sessions.
If you don't have HTVRONT IdeaStudio on your computer yet, please download it first and follow the instructions to install the software on your Windows computer.
Need to download HTVRONT IdeaStudio?
Download IdeaStudioAfter installation, open IdeaStudio, click Add Device, and select E15 15-Needle Embroidery Machine.
Click Next, then click Connect.
For the first time you connect, follow the prompts to download and install the required driver. This is a one-time step — future connections won't require a driver installation.
Make sure the E15 embroidery machine and the computer running IdeaStudio are connected to the same WiFi network. Both devices need to be on the same network for IdeaStudio to detect the machine.
On the machine's touchscreen, tap the Wi-Fi icon.
Return to HTVRONT IdeaStudio and wait while the software connects to the machine automatically. After the connection is established, click Complete Connection. Once connected, a cloud icon will appear on the machine's touchscreen — this confirms the machine is linked to IdeaStudio.
With the machine connected, you're ready to create a design task. Before creating your design task, click Device Settings and set the needle colors to match the threads currently on the thread stand.
Note: If no changes are needed, you can keep the default colors. Setting the needle colors accurately helps IdeaStudio assign design colors to the right needles during production.
Click + to create a new canvas.
Select E15 15-Needle Embroidery Machine as your target device.
Click Upload and select your embroidery design file. The machine supports DST and DSB file formats.
Once the design is loaded, you can choose how to proceed. IdeaStudio gives you two paths depending on whether you want to edit the design or send it directly.
If you don't need to make any changes, select Add to Task to send the design directly to the machine without editing.
If you need to make adjustments, select Go Design to open the canvas editor. Here you can:
⚠️ Important sizing note: DST and DSB files already contain stitch data. While you can resize the design in the canvas editor, large size changes may affect embroidery quality — the stitch density and pull compensation were calculated for the original dimensions. Keeping the original size is strongly recommended unless you have a specific reason to scale.
When you're done editing, click Make. Enter a task name and choose a color assignment method:
Click Add to Task, then click Send to send the design to the machine.
IdeaStudio supports sending multiple designs to the E15 in a single session — a significant time-saver when you're preparing a production batch.
To send multiple designs, open the production Task list and select the design files.
Choose All Files, then click Send to Machine.
Pro Tip: Batch sending is ideal for preparing for a busy production day. Load your day's designs into the Task list the night before, then send them all at once in the morning — your E15 will have everything ready to stitch when you start your shift.
One of IdeaStudio's most powerful features is the ability to combine multiple designs into a single custom pattern. You can upload multiple design files and merge them into a new composition — placing logos, adding text, mixing borders, or building layered multi-element designs.
This opens up significant creative possibilities for businesses that want a signature style, or for anyone who wants to build designs that go beyond the limitations of a single purchased pattern file.

You've now mastered the second way to import embroidery designs to the E15 embroidery machine — through HTVRONT IdeaStudio over WiFi. Together with the USB method from Lesson 7, you now have two complete workflows for getting any design onto the machine:
Most E15 owners eventually settle into a hybrid workflow: using IdeaStudio for editing and batch preparation, and USB for quick one-off imports. Both methods work seamlessly with the same DST and DSB file formats, so you can switch between them without any conversion steps.

Join the HTVRONT Embroidery CommunityFor the E15 15-needle embroidery machine, IdeaStudio is only compatible with Windows systems. This is an important limitation to know if you work primarily on a Mac. If you're using a Mac, you'll need to run IdeaStudio through a Windows environment (such as a virtual machine or a Windows PC) to connect with the E15. The USB import method covered in Lesson 7 works on any platform and is a good alternative if Windows isn't available.
The most common cause is that the machine and computer aren't on the same WiFi network. Both the E15 and the computer running IdeaStudio must be connected to the exact same network — not just the same internet connection. If your machine is on a 2.4GHz network and your computer is on 5GHz, for example, they may not see each other even if they're on the same router. Other possible causes include firewall settings blocking the connection, or a missing driver installation on the first-time setup.
Keep Design Colors uses the needle colors already configured on the machine — the design adapts to match your current thread setup. Remap by Needle Colors preserves the original pattern colors — the machine will use whatever colors the design specifies, which means you'll need to replace the physical threads on the thread stand to match. Choose Keep Design Colors when you want a fast workflow without changing threads; choose Remap when color fidelity to the original design matters most.
Yes, you can resize designs in the canvas editor — but keep changes small. DST and DSB files contain pre-calculated stitch data, including density and pull compensation for the original size. Large resizes may cause puckering, thread breaks, or uneven stitch density because the stitch data no longer matches the geometry. For significant size changes, re-digitizing the design at the correct dimensions is a better approach than scaling a finished file.
No — once a design is sent to the machine, IdeaStudio is no longer needed for that stitch-out. The design is stored on the machine and can be stitched even if IdeaStudio is closed or the computer is disconnected from WiFi. You only need IdeaStudio running when you're actively sending new designs or updating device settings. This makes it easy to load up the machine with designs and then shut down the computer while stitching continues.
Yes — IdeaStudio supports combining multiple design files into a single custom pattern. You can upload designs from different sources (files you've purchased, downloaded, or digitized yourself), place them on the same canvas, and arrange them into a new composition.
