There is even a mini heat press for smaller items! HTV is usually used on fabrics, such as T-shirts, but it can also be used on glass, wood and many other surfaces!

2. When using HTV, which side will drop?

Place the glossy surface of the heat transfer vinyl on the mat.

3. Do I need to mirror for HTV?

Mostly right. When using HTV, please don't forget to mirror the text. This is very important for text and images that need to face a specific direction. For symmetrical design, it doesn't matter. 4. How to apply heat transfer vinyl to glass?

Here the steps to tell you how to put vinyl on glass.

Step 1: Create and cut the design, and prepare for weeding.

Tips for your design
Choose a small, simple design. Since the glasses are round, your design should be smaller or it can be cut open. Measure the area on the glass you want to design. Make your vinyl on glass design smaller, but smaller than round, to show that the glass is round.

Step 2: Arrange the desired design on the glass.

Some tips for weeding
For phrases, separate them in a way that is easy to split. When applying vinyl on glass, cut the edges close so that they can be placed closer to the glass.Cutting the phrase apart will make it easier for you to wrap the design around the curve of the glass. Also, if you are entering text, make sure to weld it together so that it does not become interesting where the letters meet.

Step 3: There are two ways to apply HTV on the glass

Iron:

Start with very clean glasses. Wipe the glass with alcohol to remove any grease from your fingers. Tap the vinyl on glass design on each area of the design for a few seconds until it covers the entire design. Please note that you don't need to press as long as on the fabric. You can work in a space covered with a towel, which keeps the glass stable and stays nearby when it gets hot. If you don’t have a mini iron, you can also use a regular iron. But if you plan to do a lot of this project, or if these are gifts and want them to be perfect, please invest in a mini iron. A regular iron can work, but it is a bit awkward.

Heat Press Machine:

Place a towel on the bottom of the heat press pad, which helps protect the glass.Do not use excessive force, because the glass may break due to excessive pressure, so please gently press for a few seconds.

Step 4: Wait a few minutes before peeling, until the glass cools, and be very careful when peeling, because the glass may be hot.

You can tell when it sticks because it pulls off the plastic and sticks to the glass.

Pull down the plastic. After pulling down the plastic, cover it with freezer paper and iron a little, especially the small part.

Maintenance of HTV on glass

Wash your hands gently after use.

Do not let them immerse in water, otherwise the design will fall off.
Don't microwave. Do not put in the dishwasher. HTV is not dishwasher safe.
Okay, now you are done. I believe your project looks great! If you like this, be sure to share it! By the way, in fact, adhesive vinyl can also be used on glasses and mugs, and it will be easier, click here to learn more!
