Large Flat Frame Embroidery of E15 Embroidery Machine - Tutorial 13

Today, we’ll show you how to embroider with a large flat frame on the E15 Embroidery Machine. If you’ve already followed our standard shirt embroidery tutorial, How to Embroider a Shirt - E15 Embroidery Machine Lesson 2, you’ll notice the overall process is similar. The main difference is in installing the extension table and hooping the large flat frame. This guide walks you through those steps in detail.

The large flat frame supports an embroidery area up to 500 x 250 mm, compared to the standard flat frame’s 300 x 238 mm. That extra space lets you embroider larger designs on flat fabrics without repositioning.

Introduction

Large flat frame embroidery is ideal for bigger designs on flat fabrics such as shirts, jackets, or tote bags. The large flat frame gives you a wider embroidery area than a standard hoop, and the extension table supports the frame as it moves.

To put the size difference in perspective: the large flat frame supports up to 500 x 250 mm, while the standard flat frame supports 300 x 238 mm. If your design needs more room, the large flat frame is the better choice.

In this tutorial, we’ll cover installing the extension table, hooping and mounting the large flat frame, and running your first embroidery project on the E15 embroidery machine.

Step 1: Install the Extension Table

1. First, remove the current embroidery hoop, then tap Frame Select to select Large Flat Frame on the touchscreen.

   

2. Next, remove the four mounting knobs from the machine.

   

3. Position the extension table and align the four mounting holes.

   

4. Install the four hand-tightened mounting knobs, then tighten them securely.

   

5. Use the on-screen controls to adjust the table position for easier screw installation.

Step 2: Hoop and Install the Large Flat Frame

1. Prepare the aluminum flat embroidery hoop, stabilizer, and fabric.

   

2. Make sure the stabilizer and fabric fully cover the hoop area. Press down the locking clips one by one to secure the stabilizer and fabric.

3. Hold the aluminum flat embroidery hoop with both hands. Align it with the mounting points on both sides of the machine and slide it into place.

   

4. Take out the two mounting screws from the tool kit. Install the large flat frame.

   

Step 3: Start Embroidery

1. Next, choose your favorite design, set the thread colors, and run pattern trace to check the embroidery area.

   

2. Finally, tap Ready, then press the Start button to begin embroidery.

   

Finishing and Removing the Hoop

After embroidery is complete, loosen the two securing knobs and remove the hoop. Then remove the short clips first, and use one of the short clips to pry off the long clips.
